The rest of the weekend has been pretty quiet, spent at home and round and about St. Albans. Did some muddy gardening yesterday and removed the 'gifts' from next door's cat - what on earth do they feed him on?
Today mooched around in PJs until early afternoon then raced into town and purchased a lovely Peter Werth cagoule in army green. Got home and persuaded Martin to come put with me to the park before I went stir-crazy with being cooped up in the house. The Verulamium Park was virtually empty - not many people chose to brave the heavy rain and strong winds - so it looked serenely beautiful today. I always forget what a lovely space the park is and tend to take it for granted; it's only just around the corner from my house (less than 5 mins walk) so I really must make more use of it. Have decided to have a picnic there next weekend if not too wet!
I've not heard terribly good reviews of the film, but it has to be good in 3D!
Spent Saturday checking out the many delights of Minehead. Highlights were Superdrug and ToyMaster - very Rock n' Roll! Saturday night was all about good old 80's rock with Saxon and Twisted Sister - amazing. We decided to 'glam' it up and drank pints of champagne whilst rocking to songs such as 'We wanna Rock'! I had so much fun. Twisted Sister exceeded my expectations - it was just like being a teenager again. Left the arena when UFO came on - don't really know them and the lead singer was more drunk than I was.
Highlight of Prague Castle for 90% of the sightseers (especially the Italians) at the Castle was Robs skirt - there were many people taking photos of his knees!
Am now signed off work with out of sync shoulder and sprained neck. Had a lot of pain in Prague but the copious amounts of alcohol kept me going. Woke up this morning with no ability to move left arm and loss of feeling in right, so very hard to type. Now drowsy on diazapan for the pain,so off to watch crap afternoon TV.
Am a tad concerned that the bands are playing from 8pm - 6am. But as long as I get to see my faves - Dying Bride, Cradle, Twisted Sister (with make-up!) and Vixen - yes Vixen,in my younger days an ex abandoned me one night for a Vixen lady and left me damaged at the side of the dance floor. But I'm over it now. Really.
Anyhow, Butlins!

Saturday 19th May 2007
Meet at Nunhead Cemetery - Linden Grove Gate at 2.50pm for 2 hours of 'Open Day wandering' - - There is a FOC guided tour at 3pm
Closest Tube Station is New Cross Gate on the East London Line
And then onto the famous Prospect of Whitby Pub for food and drinks (via the East London Line to Wapping)
Moving onto a night of trad goth, post punk, darkwave music at Invocation (via DLR from Limehouse) - starting at 9pm
Nunhead Cemetery is perhaps the least known, but most attractive, of the great Victorian Cemeteries of London. Consecrated in 1840, it is one of the seven great Victorian cemeteries established in a ring around the outskirts of London. It contains examples of the magnificent monuments erected in memory of the most eminent citizens of the day, which contrast sharply with the small, simple headstones marking common, or public, burials. It's formal avenue of towering limes and the Gothic gloom of the original Victorian planting gives way to paths which recall the country lanes of a bygone era.
The Prospect Of Whitby is one of the most famous pubs in London. It dates from 1543, built as a simple tavern. In the seventeenth century it had a reputation as a meeting place for smugglers and villains, and became known as 'Devil's Tavern'
Hopefully the return journey will be straight forward as am planning to go straight from airport to the Intrepid Fox on the 10th for the 1st 2007 meeting!
The LVG have now got a new meeting venue for their monthly meetings:

Further news and events bulletin to be sent at beginning of January
Bites! mM
Put the date in your diaries and keep checking for updates!
Hopefully Demondaz will be on hand to help ....(please!)
We plan to hold talks, films, DJing, quizzes as part of the meetings too.
New events also to be announced for 2007 and I'll be updating the Revamped website!
Watch this space for further details!
Managed to meet up with some of the LVG and also met lots and lots of excellent people from all over the world. Observed Darren's (DemonDaz) and chums photoshoot which was pretty impressive up at the abbey. Drank lots, ate bad food (Whitby is probably the chip capital of Britain - it was impossible to find anywhere that didn't offer chips with everything!)
Did lots of shopping. Got some great bargains and some items that were a tad pricey, but they were items I couldn't get anywhere else so it was worth it. Got a great new hat and a velvet coat that just needs a few additions to make it perfect. Could have spent loads more, but my funds just couldn't stretch that far!
Don't think I've been quite so photographed - but my lovely dress caused quite an impact and I managed to get some great pics done of me and other people. A few of the LVG group also got some great photos done for publicity, namely Tara, Sheridan (?), Darren, Mick, Rose Thorn (honorary member!) ...thanks to Fozzie, the photographer. Will post photos on the LVG website and Photobucket later - I just need to find my list of people whom I met so I can work out how to add them to Livejournal and myspace (I find Myspace so much easier than Livejournal though!)
We also sold loads of the Chronicles mag which was pretty impressive and did a live radio interview to advertise the LVG (more to do later) - plus some stuff for newspapers and a Japanese fashion mag! Have been asked to do MTV in Canada tomorrow via video / webcam, but not too sure about that. I did a very short live TV piece whilst in Canada last year and froze for a bit - my lips stuck to my teeth and when I had to do the walk away from the camera I went in the wrong direction (I don't know my left and right)!
Have been off work so far this week as very sick, so hoping I recover for tomorrow, otherwise I won't be having much fun! I'm hoping to go down the 'Kill or Cure' path with regards to alcohol consumption!
Outfits sorted - just a bit more sewing to do. Not sure if I'm taking too much, but I never really get a chance to wear some of my dresses and hats so I guess there'll be a few quick changes going on throughout the weekend (if I can fit it all in my car!). I do often find, though, that I tend to take loads of stuff when I go away and then just end up wearing the same thing all the time!
Have got my credit card primed and ready! A shopping list is building in my mind!
Meet @ The British Museum (and end up in Holborn)
Further details to be confirmed.
A new London walk is being put together for the group and this will take place in the Holborn areas before the LVG AGM. During the walk we will:
"visit various terrifying locations and hauntings including a Cursed Mummy, the damned site of Aleister Crowley’s most demonic experiments, romantic suicide, the houses of various gothic and decadent writers, and perhaps most horrifying of all the ghost of Oliver Cromwell!!"
The walk is expected to cost £3.00 which will be payable on the day to Gwilym, our host.
